Oooops!

Happy Easter to anyone who may come across this blog!
I am very ashamed that it has been about 8 or 9 months since I have posted here, but it has been that long since I did any scrapbooking. I just lost all enthusiasm for it.
BUT
Today I started sorting through all my layouts and getting the kids albums sorted. I wanted to be able to give Samara and Jessica their albums now that they have homes of their own.
Long story short...
I am inspired again!
I found my 'work in progress' album and each sleeve is full with all the bits sorted for layouts, right down to printed photos!
I am off to play right now, just need to find my doubled sided tape???

A productive evening

It's amazing how much you can get done in an evening when your husband is away and all the kids are in bed or otherwise occupied!
I had a bit of pre planning, sorting out what photos I wanted to use and finding matching papers
None of the pages were very detailed or highly embellished, but I was still really happy about getting so much accomplished.
Having 5 daughters means I cannot do a page for one of them without doing one for all the others! I still have not done Kaitlins page (don't tell her the tho!!!) and did 2 for Samara so now I have to play catch up!

This page is from samaras school ball last year, and I know, I have spelt school wrong on the layout, going to fix that as soon as I finish this post. I love how beautifully the photo turned out, with the colours of the sun setting behind them, a glimpse of the stretch limo, and the vibrancy of the girls dresses. Love that green in Cassies dress, just beautiful!

Me and my Courtney, my little cuddle bug who is at that perfect cuddling height, just fitting in under my chin!!

A quick and easy page of my Maddi, using primarily Heidi Swapp products. This is from her 6th birthday, she is now 7!!! See, lots of catching up to do!

I just love this Rouge De Garanche paper, I have had it for a while and finally bit the bullet and used it!! The rub on quote under the photo is not showing up very clearly but basically means friends forever even after school days are over.

The photo of Jess on this page is a self portrait. I find these quite often on my camera!!! All the kids at one time or another, grab my camera and the results are often really good.
I love this photo of Jess (excuse the camera flash!!!).
All the products on this page are Creative Imaginations.

well hubby is back home again and not working tomorrow, so not sure whenI will get some scrappin done again. My studio needs another tidy up (this is a never ending cycle!!) and I want to get started on some jewelery and home decor and a couple of mini albums I have picked up over the past month. Oh, I also want to work on some art journals I bought from Donna Downey!! Too much to do, too little time!

Three more layouts.

Was very happy to get three layouts done in one day. Hoping to get some more done this afternoon! While hubby is away, I'll create all day!!!!!!

This last layout was inspired by one I saw on Kate Masons blog. Veeerrry inspiring lady who does the most beautiful work. If you haven't read her blog before go on over and take a look!

On a roll....

It has been ages since I did some scrapping. Been so caught up in the painting that my albums and photos have become rather neglected!
So yesterday I created this layout of Samara and Courtney and managed to combine some painting with my scrapping!! I really love the look of white on the kraft coloured background, sure I will do some more of that colour combo!
Printed off a whole stack of photos and am getting stuck in to doing some more layouts and actually using some of my ever growing stash of supplies. Loving every second of it.
School holidays here at the moment and though we haven't actually done anything, the kids have been happy pottering around the house, playing their DS's and watching movies. I have managed to do a good clean of the house. So, it may not be tidy, but it is clean. Won't take long to actually tidy each day at least.
Samara has been working at the Day Care Centre and is off to AQWA today, how awesome is that! She absolutely loves it and is thinking of doing her studies part time and working there during the day. The extra money would come in handy as we want to get her her own car. Very tired of playing chauffeur now that two of them are working part time. Seems I am driving back and forth all day. At least with the holidays, there are no school runs, netball practise or games. I manage to get an extra half hour sleep each morning! Bliss....
Todays creations to be posted tonight/tomorrow!

Bad, bad blogger!

Well, I had started this blog with the best of intentions, post at least once a week, new pages to share! Huh! One post and then zip. Really well done.
But, in all honesty, I have not had much time to scrap, let alone blog anything. Which is really frustrating as I haven't stopped buying more product. We have a serious case of product overflow going on!

But, this Sunday I put all my paint aside and got some pages done. I am now proudly patting myself on the back for having such a productive day!

My wonderful husband who I am missing seriously right now. Hopefully he will be home this weekend. *sigh*
A detail shot of the Twiddleybitz flourish.

This was a real quick and easy page. I just love that photo of my Madison.

Another quick and easy page. While looking through my photos, I found this photo of the two of us taken in 1989, and also found my old highschool diary from 1986. On October 17 I have made the entry 'Anthony asked me out'. Wow, nearly 22 years together! Geez, what babies we were in that photo!

My beautiful Sammi!

I am really happy with this layout. I think I may try this in a different colour range.

My three eldest girls...

A very rare page about me!
So, that was my very satisfying Sunday!

Just Because... I can!

Thats it, I have taken the plunge, I have committed myself to this. Thankyou brave reader, for joining me on this journey. At times it will be strange, weird and maybe a little odd and then there will be times that are just not pretty. So all I can say is sit down and strap up for this weird and wonderful journey that is..... my life!

Allow me to briefly introduce myself, for those who cannot be bothered clicking on the "About Me' (see up there in the top right hand column???).
I am Mum to 5 daughters (yes, I DID say FIVE!!!!!). And to add to the madness, two of them are teenagers and another is almost there. Oh, and might I add, yes, they are all to the same father, and yes, he is a poor, downtrodden man who shall suffer the rest of his life surrounded my females (even our dogs are little ladies).
I am at the moment on the fresh side of 40, and when I get to the other side, that will become the 'new' fresh side, because I said so!! I don't struggle with gaining weight (yea, I know, you all hate me already!) and no, I am not anorexic. I have a fast metabolism that is one day going to slow right down and kick me in the ass! Then, you can all sit back and laugh at me!
I love to play with paint and paper and rub ons and pencils and crayons and glue and stickers and ribbon and metals... okay, you get the idea. I am a Visual Journalist, which is a fancy shmansy way of saying I am a scrapbooker, just don't like the term scrapbooker as too many people drop the 's' and that is a little too close to the truth of my work some days. Crap, crap, crap is often heard echoing from the depths of my studio!!

I guess you may have already heard a little too much about me and I do hope I have not scared you off this early in my blogs life. I shall leave you with some pics of an acrylic album that I spent the Easter weekend working on.

Happy Tuesday!
